One of the stores I have mentioned often in my posts is Daiso. It is by far my favorite store. Most of the things in Daiso is around ¥100 ($0.88) and occasionally some things are more expensive. The most expensive thing I found there was ¥800 ($7). While the items they sell are inexpensive, the items are nice quality, especially the dishes. They change their items out often with the various seasons and holidays. It’s fun to go see what new things they have.
I finally had the chance to go through and take pictures of my favorite Daiso. It is a two story one by the train station. I go to this one often but when I go I’m usually with friends who want to get in and out quickly or get weirded out when I take a ton of pictures. Sometimes it’s hard being friends with a blogger.
Right now they have a bunch of party and decorating supplies for Sakura (cherry blossom) season.
Jeremy’s favorite section is the food section. They have snacks, seasonings, curries, rices, soups, drinks, and so much more. When ever Jeremy has duty, we hit up this section for his duty food.
They have tons of storage options. I really want to go back and get some of those laundry bags.
They have no shortage of office supplies.
Daiso has a bunch of craft supplies.
The dishes selection is amazing.
I have been raiding the home decor sections often. I bought the Katniss statues last night. I mean, how could I not?
I love the baking and cooking section. We need a bigger kitchen for all the stuff we want to buy and use.
Daiso even has a gardening section.
I’m amazed at the amount of health and beauty options they have.
There is even a pet section.
I could go on and on about this store. I couldn’t even take pictures of everything. People were giving me weird looks after a while. There is so much here. I feel like I find something new every time I go.
When you’ve finished shopping, you check out and the cashier gives you bags to bag your stuff at a little counter. This is quite normal in Japan.
Every Daiso is different and offers different things. I love going to them because of that and because I feel like I get more for my money there. When we redid our pantry to be more organized it only cost us about $10 for all the buckets, etc where as had we gone to Wal-mart back home, we probably would have spent more like $50-$60.
Hopefully now y’all have a better idea of where I am talking about when I mention Daiso.
