It has been a crazy couple of days. Jeremy was suppose to check out of his command last Friday but because our clearances weren’t in yet they wouldn’t let him. IPAC swore up and down that they would be in Monday morning. Yesterday morning comes and no clearances. I, of course, was expecting to be denied because of my weight, or health, or who knows what. I figured that’s why it was taking so long.
Jeremy and I spent yesterday trying to apply for my passport. IPAC had misinformed us that I wouldn’t need one because I would be on Jeremy’s orders until last week when they told me I do need one. It took a few hours to get the application together but it was finally submitted. Unfortunately they said it can take 4-6 weeks to come in. I’m praying it comes in sooner.
This morning Jeremy called me to tell me that our clearances are finally in!!!! This is really happening!!! WE ARE MOVING JAPAN!!!!!!
Now everything is going to be moving so fast! We have our express shipment and our household goods shipment to be packed up. We also need to squeeze in a trip to Virginia and Pennsylvania to see Jeremy’s family. Plus at least a week in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to see my family and friends. Jeremy and I are scheduled to fly out on the 24rd. I’m hoping I have my passport in time but if not DMO will reschedule my flight and I will fly out once its in.
Thanks to the magic of Facebook I have already made some friends that are over in Iwakuni. We are planning beach and camping trips. I’m excited to already be starting this adventure off knowing people. I think Japan is going to be amazing. I can’t wait to get there.
